Duran’s Station sits along Menaul Boulevard as a steady go-to spot for authentic New Mexican cuisine served in a casual, bustling setting. This full-service Mexican restaurant draws a steady lunchtime and early afternoon crowd, with locals appreciating its honest approach to traditional dishes that don’t overwhelm with oversized portions but focus instead on quality and flavor.

The interior has a straightforward, no-frills vibe where the friendly staff often assembles plates right in view of diners, adding an open, communal feel to the meal. The atmosphere suits families looking for comforting, regional classics as well as anyone craving a reliably good green chile cheeseburger, enchiladas with red or green chile, or a hearty bowl of tortilla soup. Expect lines at peak hours, a sign of steady popularity among nearby residents and workers.

Particularly notable are dishes like the hand-rolled flour tortillas, green chile chicken enchiladas, and the chile relleno plates served with both red and green chile — all staples that showcase the blend of earthy, spicy flavors characteristic of New Mexican cooking. Options like the fritto pie and hamburger steak plate appeal to those who want a filling meal without fuss, with the fried potatoes standing out compared to the more common steamed sides found elsewhere.

Duran’s Station also offers a modest drink menu including refreshing iced tea and some adult beverages like lacumbre sangria, contributing to a relaxed midday or early evening experience where service remains attentive even when the place fills up. The vibe is steady and unpretentious — a solid spot for locals who appreciate consistency over flash.

Those stopping by during the late lunch to mid-afternoon window will find the restaurant busiest but also most lively, making it a social hub for a laid-back meal that feels like a neighborhood ritual. If you’re looking for a place where staff know their regulars and the food leans into genuine regional flavors without hopping on trendy twists, Duran’s Station quietly ticks those boxes.

Very nice authentic New Mexican food. Fritto pie for $11?! It's good food and very nice staff and owner they assemble plates right in front of you very clean amd tasty. Portions are not a two pounds of rice and beans ! But priced reasonably, good quality amd atmosphere. I enjoyed going there and will go again. You see a picture with empty seat? Yeah good luck with that ! It's always packed and better catch it a bit off rush hours. Hope you enjoy it.

I arrived around 2pm on a Wednesday. The quaint restaurant was pretty busy and welcoming. The service was prompt and polite. There are plenty of choices on the menu and a selection of adult drinks. I will definitely be back.

I like simple when it comes to nachos… and the nachos at Duran’s Station were perfect! The nachos come with melted shredded cheese, pinto beans, and jalapeños. I also tried their hamburger steak plate with fried potatoes. I’m not a fan of steam potatoes so I’m glad they have options. And their red chile is so tasty! Some of the best I’ve had in town. I know Duran’s Central Pharmacy is talked about more, but in my opinion, Duran’s Station better.

Ordered green chile chicken enchiladas, xmas chile rellenos, and the tostada plate. Delicious food and friendly service. Awesome atmosphere for a family meal. Would come back for more comfort meals!

Had an amazing #GreenChiliCheeseburger, served fresh, hot, and with a smile - during the height of lunch rush. Staff is beyond accommodating and truly shows interest in making every customer happy. Busy as it was, I didn't have to "ask for a refill". It's not 5 Star cuisine*, but if you rather have a great burger and a smile (*instead of $100 for scallops) - Duran's Station IS the spot! PS, couldn't resist a sopapilla too!

First time at Duran's Station Restaurant.. I did not know there were two locations. I've only been to Duran's in the Pharmacy.. But this place is definitely great ! I haven't had Duran's in about seven years.. made it back to albuquerque and thought better get my Red chile fix. I am so glad I did. Everything was perfect ! Got there after the lunch rush. No waiting.. big booth to myself.. ordered the carne adovada stuffed sopaipilla. That was the ultimate meal.. fresh pintos, fresh tender chunks of well seasoned pork.. Over a crunchy Sopaipilla.. Smothered with red chile and garnish.. that was so delicious ! It was perfect.. Shout out to Shyanne, my great and wonderful waitress/server.. she is awesome.. very knowledgeable of the menu and what is recommended.. she was on point ! Thank You Esmeralda for your kind and great customer service.. you are a valuable asset to Duran's restaurant.. you definitely go above and beyond to provide great service and atmosphere for all to enjoy ! Ho pi e to see ya'll soon..

Disclaimer: not from around here, so there may be some local perspectives I'm missing. This is a no frills, but quality dining experience. I had the flat cheese enchiladas - a throw back to my childhood when these things were comfort food. Its very difficult to find flat (stacked) enchiladas in places I tend to travel. Duran's Station's enchiladas were good: simple, spicy, and tasty. Very tasty. I followed my main with a single, fresh sopapilla & honey, which is just what I needed to take the spicy edge off. Sarah was warm and welcoming, and hosted me with a smile. It was a great experience for this brief stopover in Albuquerque.
